I’ll admit, this 4-star rating has a lot to do with my expectations going in. After reading some mixed reviews, I wasn’t expecting much, but the book surprised me! It’s a quick and easy read—I finished it in just 24 hours—and I really enjoyed it overall.

I liked Angelo as a character, and while I know some people have been critical of Rory, I found her to be kind of endearingly ridiculous. Sure, the whole bird thing was strange, but by the end, I started to find it oddly funny.

The plot had its moments. At times, it felt like it was dragging, and the "climax" was a whole lot of nothing if I was honest. That said, the book kept me entertained (i am a simple person to please i guess), and I’m definitely excited to dive into Rafe’s story next.
