Im sorry, no. 😭 I wanted to like this so bad but the FMC was probably one of the worst FMC I have read. She is a cringe fest. I thought for a minute that maybe I really do hate the age gap trope and maybe that is why I didn’t like it. I also debated that maybe it was the audiobook. However, it couldn’t be either of those things because:
1. Some of my favorite books have had the age gap trope
2. I absolutely loved the female narrator in other books and the male narrator did get me blushing a few times.

Therefore, I truly think the FMC just ruined the whole book. She was too weak. All she knew to say was “I am a bad girl” “I do bad things” “Oh crow!” “For flamingo’s sake” Fucking hell I think this bitch taught me more birds than school ever has. The biggest sin this bitch has committed was not jumping off that damn cliff followed by not getting the chance to kill the fat man.

And listen, I love me a weak helpless woman sometimes. Sometimes, you need that. However, she was so unapologetically weak and yet so confidently would announce to the world that “I am a bad girl” and then she would use that to try and be flirty with this 37 year old man that is looking at her thinking “lmao that’s cute she really thinks keying my car is a sin how silly!”. I am so embarrassed for her!!! This man truly HAS to look down on her and just find it endearing and that’s why he likes her. I cannot see how she could be genuine sexy to aNYBODY. Maybe a 16 year old honor roll kid in the honors science group that does wildlife trips. Other than that, truly no one else would think that 21 year old supposed to be woman is appealing.

If I could’ve allowed myself to be a very bad girl and dnf a book I would have. Instead I chose the bigger sin and lied to myself for 22 hours telling myself it would get better.

Spoiler alert: It never did.

It was a fun and different book compared to other mafia books that i read . It wasn't that serious and dark, so i read it so fast . I liked the idea about the telephone number and the plot in general . also, the tension between the two main characters  was hot . It was a fast and nice read . I'm curious about Raphael and Penny books as well , so I'll read them next 👍

This book was too much

rory’s internal monologue is filled with bird puns which gave me the ick.

I can’t stand this heroine. Between the bird names in place of curse words, advancing case of dumb-bitch-itis, and insufferable internal dialogue, my mental health requires me to put this down

Great plot, loved the slow burn of it. The scene where he tells her to take three steps away from a man and then shoots him so his blood doesn’t get on her dress, then APOLOGIZES when he accidentally got some on her? 😳 Says a lot about my book preferences. Did NOT like the bird puns at all, they felt really childish.
