Would be a better book if it weren't for all the slut-shaming, sexism and subtle, but still noticeable, lesbophobia, homophobia, transphobia and racism.

I liked this book a lot!! It’s an easy and quick read. I like the way it incorporates characters from the previous books. For whatever reason, I just didn’t love the characters as much as I did in previous books. Something about Dean just seemed a little off to me.
I also didn’t like that they kept it secret from their friends and that their friends didn’t really approve. One thing I really liked is that Allie took a break to find herself. I think that was good for her as an individual and it added to her character development

Ouuuu this was a good one, each book in this series gets better and better. LOVE the sexual tension in this book!! Was really interesting getting to know the playboy dean and see why his brain works the way it does. Love Allie as a girl next door character. The chemistry between these too is literally on fire. Job well done by Elle Kennedy once again!! Bravo 👏👏👏

Don’t get me wrong, this book was enjoyable and I happily read it in a day. However the over sexualisation of wlw relationships is a bit 🫣😬

I loved this book. I very much didn’t expect to love this book, but I loved it! I tried to avoid  this series for a very long time, and me picking it back up after the first book was more out of convenience, but I’m glad I read these books. I love the relationship between Dean and Allie as much as I love the characters separate from one another. Their chemistry was explosive and I enjoyed the way their relationship developed over the course of the book. I even liked the drama towards the end of the book, which isn’t very typical for me. Usually I’m over it before it even starts, but this time around I couldn’t help but be invested. And it gave the characters more chances to grow and develop and it made me feel a lot of emotions so that’s also a tick in my book.
All in all I loved the book: it made me giddy, made me full out laugh (at 2 am so thank you very much for that), it made me cry, it made me feel everything. (I never expected a book series about hockey players falling in love to make me cry, but here we are.)

I have to take away some points though, for the blatant heteronormativity, and the “I’m so masculine, I call people p***y” remarks that are sadly present in all the books in this series… (never liked that, never enjoyed that, cringe every time it happens, cannot effing stand it!) Oh and not to forget the over sexualization of wlw. It’s disgusting and harmful!

I am also very much not over the Beau thing. It was rude and it broke my heart!! Did not expect that to happen, nor that it would hit me this hard, but I am still very much upset about it!!

Dean and Allie are such a cutie couple!! They both lean on and help each other in tough times, despite trying to resist a connection for a while. They were able to rebound from tough times and make it out stronger!

“I think it takes a certain level of trust to sit next to someone and not feel the pressing urge to babble away.”

Allie Hayes is in crisis mode. With graduation looming, she still doesn’t have the first clue about what she’s going to do after college. To make matters worse, she’s nursing a broken heart thanks to the end of her longtime relationship. Wild rebound sex is definitely not the solution to her problems, but gorgeous hockey star Dean Di Laurentis is impossible to resist. Just once, though, because even if her future is uncertain, it sure as heck won’t include the king of one-night stands.

I didn’t expect to fall so deeply for Dean and Allie, but it happened. I also didn't expect this to get so heavy so definitely check the trigger warnings! But overall I was shocked by how lovable I found Dean and his relationship with Allie.
