I adored this book. The dynamic between the MMC and FMC was entertaining and full of sexual tension. Their journey to realizing they had deeper feelings for each other was a delight to read, as both had love sneak up on them. I especially liked how they had healthy conversations throughout every stage of their relationship. It was refreshing for there not to be miscommunication in a new adult romance.

You might be wondering why I continued on with this series despite not really liking the first or second books. I am wondering this myself. However, I genuinely feel like reading this series is akin to not being able to look away from a car wreck.

There are many strange parts to this book, but maybe the strangest is that Allie dresses up to go to the local college bar to make Dean jealous and her outfit… it’s traumatizing to describe. It’s a blue bodycon bandage dress with FIVE INCH stiletto heels. And she isn't even the first FMC of the series to do this — all of the girls in this series wear these kinds of outfits. Now, I didn’t go to college in the Northeast. But… considering this book was written around 2016, I can almost promise you no one is wearing that outfit to the local college dive bar. It reminds me of when people used to write like One Direction fan fictions and use the Polyvore website to come up with the outfits the FMCs would wear — they all included stiletto heels. That scene in & of itself was able to give me the ick to the point where it was hard for me to finish reading.

fun, fun fun! (however, i won't continue with the last book in the series bc i HATE pregnancy tropes and i can't be arsed, no matter how much fun it is to read about hockey semi-assholes)

I was very curious how this book was going to play out given it centers Dean, who all we have been told is a huge player who doesn’t care to date or have relationships. I was excited to also have it centered around Allie as well as the glimpses we have gotten of her have shown her to be a kind and caring friend of Hannah’s. The two of them together ended up making a lot of sense with their fun personalities, and for the most part things were pretty easy for them being together. It wasn’t until the last quarter of the book that there was real conflict in their relationship, and while it was nice to have things just develop well between them, if there was going to be a conflict I wish more time was spent on it and the two of them taking time to find themselves as that is what the book seemed to be going for but skimmed over. This was probably my least favorite of the series so far, but I will say it had the most shocking twists, specific two near the end! I still loved it and finished it really quick, and I am committed to finishing this series now at this point.
