Somewhat of a slow read, but then I switched to audio and that made it more interesting.
Follows them during the whole arc of the Nazi control in Austria. Jumps from person to person (which I didn't love), but also talks about them after the war. I didn't know about the organization (very loose organization) in Austria.
4.5 stars = enjoyed, would look for other books if i need something to read, would recommend

I found this book very informal and entertaining.
Things I liked:
1. The way things were described was very nice. I like how Gaddy listed some real documents, and the photos were a nice touch.
2. I just love to read about WWII so the fact that this book even exists made me happy so…
Yeah, overall this book was really enjoyable. And I loved it!

Nonfiction. I found the short chapters that flip frequently between characters to be difficult to follow (probably exacerbated by listening instead of reading). The author’s notes at the end were especially interesting and helpful.

This book was a look into a subculture I didn’t know existed in Germany during WWII. The author took historical accounts - journal articles, Gestapo/SS records, etc - and built narrative accounts of three Edelweiss Pirates, who resisted the Hitler and Nazi rule. It is a fascinating look, her writing keeps you interested in each person/character, and I learned so much.
