This was a solid 4 star reed. Two single parents with different, yet similar broken pasts are both grieving with leaning to work together at the bar the own together. This banter in this book was great. I really enjoyed both Rylee and Rhodes and loved their kids. The scene with the kids in the car made me laugh and the movie night made me swoon.

I loved this book. I was drawn in from page one. I think it’s a realistic representation of what life is like after loss. The grief and recovery that comes with that loss. When Rhodes and rylee meet after her brothers accident, it’s clear their shared loss of her brother and his best friend is what draws them to each other. The comedic relief their children bring to the book lightens the story so it’s not sad as they dredge through the grief together.
