Oh man. This story. The banter at the beginning really set the tone, with Rhodes being a jerk and Rylee being, well, a bitch. She was broken and sad and at a crossroads, with some serious walls up to protect her. But those walls she had up were there for a reason, and Rhodes had the physique to climb right over. Rhodes was very jealous and possessive, but I find those traits endearing, instead of upsetting. Lol.
The story was very very emotional, but also sweet, sexy, and funny. I honestly laughed REALLY loud at a part of the epilogue, and had to read it to my husband, who also laughed. Considering our daughter is also 7, the comment was very authentic.

I really am just getting through these random romance books in my tbr list cause OOOF.
Nothing breathtaking or amazing, nothing really pulled me in - characters or the plot. Was gonna actually DNF halfway, but then decided to push through just cause the kids were somehow entertaining, but even those didn't make it an enjoyable read.

Buckle up and enjoy the ride….
Wow. Just wow. This is an emotional rollercoaster, complete with emotional whiplash. And I loved the entire ride.
Rhodes and Rylee and brought together after the sudden death of her older brother Trevor, who is Rhodes’ best friend/ business partner. Having never met before, they had a rocky beginning. It was definitely not love at first sight- even if there was an attraction. Each of them was struggling to climb out of a dark space, weighed down by grief. Each of them were single parents to some pretty hilarious and amazing kids, who were their reason for trying to keep going. Finding themselves partners in the ownership of the bar Trevor and Rhodes opened, they both find a partner they weren’t looking for, and they each help heal the brokenness in the other.
Let me make it clear, these characters are grieving and struggle to deal with some big emotions…. But this somehow is not a sad story at all, and while their grief and learning to move past it is a pivotal part of the story, it doesn’t weigh it down. You will definitely get some whiplash with the sudden shifts from hot to cold, and their banter is brilliant. Grief is a witch, and those mood swings and shifts are brutal sometimes. They each have sole custody of their kiddos, and an absent other parent. Their kids are precious, and they bring such comedic relief to the story.
Everything about this story felt real and honest. The emotions were real, the struggles were real. I appreciated the lack of a forced or contrived conflict to cause drama. These two were perfect for each other, and I loved watching them come together and become a family.

This is the first book I've read by Harloe Rae and I am a fan! Single mother AND single father romance?! Yes please!
Rylee moves back home with. her son after her brother's passing to be closer to family and to take over the bar that he owned that was left to her. What she wasn't expecting was to find Rhodes Walsh, her brother's friend and business partner. Rhodes' grumpy demeanor made their initial interactions not go so well, but he was determined to make things right. It didn't take long for him to realize how much he wanted Rylee and she could only hold out for so long before falling for him too.
The tension and spice in this book was amazing! I really enjoyed this read and highly recommend! Can't wait to read more from this author!

good read
Was excited to read this after seeing it all over tiktok and on the top 100 kindle. I love a good single parent rom com and I enjoyed this until about 50% then lost interest. I felt the banter between the main characters.was unrealistic and didn’t flow. I didn’t really see a connection between the two other than instant attraction
