A very interesting and seemingly comprehensive book on Google that goes from the beginning right up to the present. The author takes a very positive view of Google, which I don't mind because his point of view is pretty well in line with my own.

The scope of the Google vision is awe inspiring and they have managed to make mounds of data sound romantic.

This was a great read! It let the reader know some of the history of Google, didn't spend too long on any one topic, gave a flavor of google culture, presented Google's driving philosphy and reflected on how google lived up to those ideals, and so much more.

I'd recommend for anyone curious about the past of the major mover of the internet.

I thought that I wouldn't particularly enjoy this title, but truth be told, I thought it was excellent. Well written and meticulously researched, there's something here for anyone working in the technology industry. It is worth noting that the audiobook version has an additional interview between Levy and Marissa Mayer that is interesting as a reflection on the book itself.

I really enjoyed this one, though in good part it's because it provided a lot of background for where I now work. It's a bit surreal to read the stories of the people they've recruited and their accomplishments... and then see them on-screen at company meetings. :)

If you are interested in knowing how Google got started or enjoy reading about technology or are curious on how Google is different from a regular company, this is a very good read.

As a Google employee, I mainly enjoyed this book from a "I remember that!" perspective, usually happy, sometimes cringing. Even though I didn't gain any deep insights from the book, it was interesting to see how Google's history was perceived from an external perspective. The main downside of this book is one that it can't help -- it's now going on 7 years old which is a significant portion of the company's lifetime.

Tore through this, a fascinating narrative on Googles rise. The section on the early years is more interesting but its excellent throughout. Highly recommended.

I've loved Google for a very long time. This book only made that love stronger. It was great to learn about how much Google cares about algorithms, data, and just helping push the human race forward. Steven Levy did a great job compiling this and I've definitely recommend it if one wishes to learn more about Google.
