It’s a good story although seemed a bit far fetched as the suspense grew and the story unraveled

I liked Nash and Maddie's story. I like how Maddie and Nash have people to talk to work out their feelings and sort themselves out. The suspense portion keeps things interesting. I enjoyed how Nash and Maddie communicated. There isn't a third-act breakup.

Nash and Maddie were just 🥰😍 together.... seriously the sweetest thing I've ever seen. Mirror images of misplaced guilt and responsibility.... history filled with love and affection that they, without thought, offer one another out sheer codependency for the other half of their soul... 😍 such a sweet connection! I can't say too much without giving away the plot points, but let's just say Maddie's parents were awful and I'm glad there was some retribution on that side of things because damn.

The obstacles that these Hartley boys and their women have had to overcome is intense because Wren and Holt's book actually made my top emotional read of the year for 2023 with how incredible these suspenseful ass plots and the multiple suspects are! This is only my second book by Catherine Cowels, but I'm hooked forsure!

This one was good it did have a fair few similarities to the first one and the raunchy scenes went by too fast just like in the first book. But I  loved Nash. I do think the danger scenes all happened back to back which was alot but it was still good.

okay listen I liked this one a lot more than the first one, but not enough to save the series for me 😅 I just feel like there’s so many other indie series that do romantic suspense better (I’m so sorry)

that being said, best friends to lovers always makes me emo 🥹 and for once, there wasn’t any miscommunication or third act breakup, so that was a win in my book!

I just found nash to be a little too possessive for me, even though I appreciate how open he was with his brothers and vice versa about giving her the space she needed. it just felt that he was not giving her enough space to heal and be herself not around her abusive ex.

I did love the suspense elements way more in this one!! it wasn’t so much a mystery but wondering when the next shoe would drop and cause chaos 🤯 the ending needed a bit more workshop because the back to back almost unaliving the same character was a little overkill in my opinion 🤷🏼‍♀️

yes, I will continue this series but it’s going to be a one off for me!

Another five star from Catherine Cowles!!

This is a friends to lovers romantic suspense. And this one cuts deep.

Maddie comes back to Cedar Ridge after leaving her abusive ex. Her strength is astounding even after everything that happened to her. Her love for Nash runs so deep since they’d been best friends for their entire lives. The trauma they’ve endured together is insane.

Nash loved Maddie with everything he is. His guilt for what happened to her is so heartbreaking to see (especially when he finds out why she finally left him💔). All he wanted was to protect her from all the evil in the world & he does just that🥺

Their happy ever after is the best. You HAVE to read this, it’s so emotional & amazing 🫶🏼

Also, that plot twist… I 100% did not see it coming
