Omg! I absolutely loved this book! Lauren is so funny and the way she wrote this was so much like talking to your best friend. I loved the behind the scenes talk and I loved hearing about her life. Love love love!
I listened to this as an audiobook which I loved since Lauren Graham narrated it herself!
The book starts off telling the story of Lauren’s life from birth and it’s really interesting to hear where she came from. It is all told in her fun, fast voice and always with a hint of humor which makes it a joy to listen too!
While I liked hearing about that I’d have to say that hearing about the filming of Gilmore Girls and then about the filming of A Year in the Life was really my favorite! It was so fun to hear the behind the scenes details!
I did love listening to the audiobook (not only does Lauren narrate it but she also has actual conversations with her father and agent and she sings a few different times) but I would recommend getting a copy of the book as well so you can see the photos she’s added.

i first watched gilmore girls in high school and not long after i completed the series, a year in the life came out and immediately after i watched it i bought this book. i never got around to reading it until now and i looove that lauren narrates it, such a fun listen and all gilmore girls fans should read!

Quick, entertaining listen. She is almost exactly like the two characters she is famous for playing: Lorelai Gilmore and Sarah Braverman. She is basically a mix of the two!

Can I be like Lauren when I grow up? Not the actress part. I have no business being on a stage. But her warmth, humor, wit, and positivity. I found myself inspired by the way she carved a path that was just right for her and never compromised on her values.
The book was sweet and funny and gave me just a little glimpse into the world of Gilmore Girls. Not so much that the world of Stars Hollow lost its magic, but just enough that I love my favorite comfort show even more.
