I got this book for the Pants' podcast's book club. Reading this book made me realize I haven't read many books with an older main character. It was a refreshing change in character POV in how Magda reflected on her life and her choices. I often found it difficult to keep up with the many jumps to flashbacks, and I also wish Magda's character was drawn out a bit more. Overall, I enjoyed reading the book and it's unique perspective on life, love, and regrets.

Magda is this complex character who just needs a hug. I found her relatable, to a point.

kinda a slow start for me, but about ~80 pages in it started to pick up and I really grew attached to the characters. I thought this handled grief and aging so well, and as someone who is so nostalgic all the time and worried about time passing, it was just a really special read for me. I’m glad I powered through the slower parts.
