Nice POV of Thomas and we see events from his perspective leading to the first time he met Audrey Rose. He really did fall in love at first sight of her, morbidly so while she was splattered with blood in her uncle's laboratory.

His dinner with his father was entertaining. Lord Cresswell was annoying in the fourth book but Thomas is really his father's son minus the meanness.
