Been trying to find a non Amazon copy of this FOREVER and my library FINALLY came through (take THAT Jeff Bezos)!! Anyway, I loved this - it's simple and doesn't contain a lot (if any) exciting action, but it's one of those historicals where the differences between Lizzie and Benedict are played out believably (of course they're going to have to learn how to communicate his every third word is a grunt and she doesn't know what to expect from him), without making me want to lock them in that caravan until they figure themselves out. I also really love when authors give seemingly mild female characters determination and curiosity and an iron backbone.
