this was cute! it would have been a 5 stars but i felt like the author was not out right enough that the character is a woman of color!! i found this book on instagram and then after some stalking found the character art and the woman is gorgeous and has dark skin. so then looking at the cover i was confused because she is super light and then in the book I felt that her skin color and tone were barely described or I missed them. it took until he washed her hair that i felt like she was described as a person of color! i wanted to see better representation but other than that it was a cute novella and the characters worked really well together.

'“I love exactly who you are at this moment, Maya. I love who you were ten years ago, and I love every version of you you’ll become. I know you, and I may not remember doing so, but I know what I signed up for when I signed that paper, and I think it’s the best decision I’ve ever made.” He kisses me again. “Now, can you tell me you love me back?”

I smile, running a hand through his soft hair. “I love you, pretty boy. I love you for exactly who you are, for all the ways you drive me mad and make me laugh. I love you when you think you don’t deserve it, and I’ll do my best to show you that you do.”'

Nbd just sobbing (extremely affectionate) in my bed at 2 am

A Spicy Valentine’s Love!

Maya & Easton shared a sexy start, with an even better love story. Short story, but jam packed with steam and happiness. Definitely read this on Valentine’s Day !

The Forever Experiment is a little novella packed with an emotional ride, all the spicy heat, and what is becoming a Sarah Bailey standard: MMCs that are down so bad for their woman and not afraid to say it. Easton is Penelope's (from The Soulmate Theory) brother, and he had one perfect moment with Maya in college. He never quite forgot about her, and 10 years later he puts himself in her orbit again, hoping for a different outcome this time around. Maya is a dedicated literary lawyer, with high expectations for her future and no plans to compromise on what she wants. Easton is smart but definitely does not have the same love of law that Maya does. In Easton, Maya finds the one person who lets her be exactly who she is, with no reservations. Some of the best moments with these two are the smaller, more intimate ones outside of the (very) steamy ones. The moments where he takes care of her allow her moments of vulnerability.

Their whole reconnection happens in Vegas... and Easton definitely does not want what happens in Vegas to stay in Vegas. The hard part is getting Maya on the same page. And that is what we see play out. This story has a great mix of heat (ahem... hotel windows) and heart.

I read this early as an ARC from the author. All opinions are my own.
