Why do I do this to myself???

Artist Maeve x hockey player Asher are the main characters in this brother’s best friend/ teammate, friends to lovers, marriage pact/ marriage of convenience story. I loved the first two books in this series, but this book fell short. I feel like this couple just wasn’t that interesting to me, and it kind of dragged on. When I look back through what I highlighted on my kindle, it was just okay. However, I’m excited to read the next book in the series though, the excerpt for Leighton and Miles’ book was good!

The Proposal Play was an entertaining and enjoyable tale and I loved it. This is the 3rd book in the Love and Hockey series and it's a friends to lovers/ marriage of convenience tale I couldn't put down.

Asher and Maeve made such a perfect couple. They've been friends for over 10 years so they had that close bond. Their Vegas Wedding which was supposed to be a prank, ended up taking an unexpected turn causing them to have to pretend their marriage was real.

I loved seeing how these two always supported each other and how their feeling for each other changed the more time they spent as a married couple. The story was low angst and gave us great banter, undeniable chemistry, sizzling spice, romance, and so much more. It was a wonderful read and I would definitely recommend it to romance lovers.

I listened to the audiobook which was narrated in Duet by Robert Hatchet and Vanessa Edwin. They were fantastic and really took the story to another level. Their voices were clear and understandable and they gave each character their own personalities. They were perfectly cast and made the listening experience an absolute delight.

Got me out of my reading slump.
A cute dynamic between the characters (but it could have been developed even more through writing). But overall it is such an enjoyable read!

I was expecting to feel more by the end - a bit more tension perhaps, prior to them coming to their own realizations of how much they want each other. Nevertheless, a rom-com worth recommending to a friend. Finished this in one sitting too! Planning on exploring more from this author 🤍

This was my favortie out of the Love and Hockey series which shocks me because it hasn’t been my favorite series. Asher and Maeve connection was top tier from their friends to lovers and best friends sister. I was excited to read this because a marriage of convenience is always a fun ride it can go two ways fun and funny, or bad. I loved the way Lauren wrote Asher to always be there for Maeve especially when she feels like it isn’t right. Maeve I felt was hard to connect to,  it she came around and I loved how open to she came to the idea of being fake married. These two had a lot of connection throughout their lives and I think it turned out really well.
