Listening to this book was wonderful. The narrators were new to me and I enjoyed listening to their voices. They are not on my very short list of narrators that I will search for just to hear them read to me again. I felt as I listened that the characters were alive and I was beside them in their lives. The Proposal Play is great listening. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys sports romance, hockey loving, and spicy listening.
I have become a huge fan of hockey romance. The relationships between the players is spot on, they have each other’s backs while also giving them grief about their miss steps in life. While Asher is pretending to be married to Maeve, his teammates call him out on all the ways that the marriage is not fake.

Asher and Maeve have entered into a marriage of convenience. They are best friends and things are about to get complicated. This story was fun! I enjoyed her being an artist and him a hockey player but it mainly centered around them and the fact that they will do anything for one another. The audiobook is done so well! Love a duet!
I can always trust Lauren Blakely to write a great hockey romance, and The Proposal Play was no different!
An aspiring artist and a professional hockey player go to Vegas and what happens in Vegas, doesn’t always stay in Vegas. Once word gets out about their, *this is only temporary*, Vegas wedding they fake it till they make it trying to act like a happy, and very real, husband and wife. Of course, somewhere along the line things start to blur from fake to real and with romantic thoughts swirling in the mix, things get sweet and messy.
I loved Asher and his thoughtful tendencies and always wanting to make sure Maeve felt like the bad*ss she is with her art. And Maeve being the biggest flirt and never afraid to speak her mind, mostly, to her best friend had me giggling more often than not. Asher and Maeve have such great chemistry both in their spicy times and in their regular interactions. There is mental health representation in their relationship and the ways they try and conquer those situations together was heart wrenching but beautiful all together!
I truly loved and enjoyed this book, my only downside was the communication between the two wasn’t always the greatest and I felt like they were stringing each other along in their own minds much longer than they should have, but that could have been the point lol! Otherwise I couldn’t get enough of Maeve and Asher and wish I had more time with them being together “for real.”
