bought it as an impulse buy at winners cuz cuz all 3 books and a poster was included and i read summer in the city which was an amazing book imo so i thought of reading her other books…. but when i started reading it, it was okay/exciting/got me hooked in the beginning then it was boring from the middle to end…. debating whether i should continue the other books :,)

Unfortunately I felt like this was a weaker version of many other books I’ve read. I didn’t feel very invested in the storyline and it felt fairly predictable (said as someone who puts little effort into trying to predict) I think this is YA so maybe that had to do with it? It’s definitely cute and fun and readable but I was never really reaching for it. Also I mostly read this bc it has been described as having trials and the trials felt like suuuuch a small aspect of the plot to me.

This was my first fantasy read ever. I loved the plot and the characters. It took a couple chapters to get used to the language but other than that it was a really captivating read.

It's an interesting concept but the retelling of the curse over and over again got repetitive and I think there were some contractions at the twist in the end. I might read the next two to see if it works itself out but overall ehh
