It was fun to read but I dunno it felt very Tiktok-y. Did not like the ending and probably won't read the sequels. Also the love triangle is wild and stupid sorry

It was pretty good, still wish it had a much better introduction even if now I know there was reason behind not introducing the character and the setting and just sort of tossing us in with her. Its still not my favorite. I felt unconnected to Isla and the others basically the entire book, and felt like I shouldve known more than I did. Overall though it was a good story, entertaining and an easy read. Would read the rest, just maybe not a priority lol

Was not a fan! I was honestly struggling to follow a little bit. I don't feel like I ever really understood what was going on. I feel like the ending left me with a lot of questions and not even in the fun cliffhanger way, more the annoying confused way.

I reread this book to prepare to read nightbane and my original rating of 4.5 still stands! I think this is such a fun and interesting plot, but I have found that anything with trials (red queen, powerless, etc.) is going to do it for me every single time.
As I read through the book I remembered some of the surprises and plot points, but some I didn't and was just as *shook* reading them again. I expected to come out rooting for a certain love interest and forgot all about how the ending goes down lol.
All that being said, I think this book is super fun and does a great job of being a YA fantasy book. I'm excited for nightbane and to see where this story leads and how Isla continues to grow.
As a last note, I utilized the audio book for part of this book and really enjoyed the narrator. If you like audiobooks I recommend listening to this one!
