Plot
American art student Ashley is set to spend the holidays alone until classmate Emma invites her to come stay in the family manor. Ashley is swept up in the large family presence next to cozy fires and luxury. She even finds a bit of romance with Emma’s brother Adam. But when she learns that Adam is under suspicion for a local murder things begin to look more grim.
This is a super short novella. Which was exactly what I was looking for. It was well written and interesting but it lacked a bit of wow factor. Which isn’t too uncommon in short stories. If you're looking for a quick suspense story this would be a good option.
Meh leads to Wow
While I enjoyed the plot twist, the first half of this book was VERY hard to get through. I almost quit several times in the 1.5 hours it took to read this. But I. The end I’m glad I stuck with it cause the last half shook me to my core. Enjoy!

I read this in one sitting. Kindle said the average read time is about 2 hours & 20 minutes, I read it in about 3 hours (I’m a slow reader).
