In so many ways, this is my ideal 2024 Christmas novella. I enjoyed the dark story in September and will be excited to be on the hunt for my own copy in the coming months (this was a library book), so I can read it on a dark and snowy winter's night.

A bite sized Christmas story to get you in the mood for eggnog & murder.

Wanted to pick up one last Christmas themed short story and this one was unexpected! I didn’t guess what would happen! I definitely want to read more from this author.

This was a great, dark holiday murder mystery.

I love a good English manor mystery and this novella did not disappoint. I had forgotten I had put this on reserve at the library and when it came in I immediately read it. Ashley Smith is a lonely American going to school in London. When the popular and beautiful Emma invites her to spend Christmas in the Cotswolds at her family home she thinks it is to good to be true. Sadly, it is but she does not realize that for a while. We then follow Ashley as she travels there for the break and meets Emmas family including her handsome twin Adam. The small village that they live in has a recent dark story as one of the local women was murdered.

If you enjoy classic detective books or mysteries this is one to pick up. The reason that I gave it four stars is because I wanted more of a vindication for the victim.
