This one took me by surprise. I didn’t read anything before diving into it and I think that helped. I liked that this was a short, quick read that you still get a lot out of. The story was so interesting and just keeps getting better as you read on. I definitely recommend this one!

It certainly kept me turning pages - I read about 80% in one sitting and am glad I saved the rest for morning. It made me sad and a bit cynical. It was definitely different than what I typically read and I was pleased that I put the story together before it was revealed.

Would recommend for those who like short novel/novella format and appreciate murder mystery but want it to feel seasonal.

This was my first Peter Swanson read and it definitely will not be my last.

A short and to the point novella that is perfect for this time of year. If you are looking for a holiday book that isn’t your typical ‘cheesy romance’ and has more mystery, twists and turns, then this is for you.

At under 100 pages I promise you will fly through this story. An American college student gets invited to the English country side to spend Christmas with a family she hardly knows. What more could go wrong?

Told from some present day perspectives and mostly diary entries. This had me completely hooked.

Would have made an amazing full length novel as well. 😍

The audiobook narrators attempt at an American accent is unfortunately one of the worst I've ever heard. Completely distracting and cringey, couldn't listen to it.
