The book starts off slow and takes some time to get into the mystery. The characters' backgrounds were well developed making for an antagonizing story but there was no wow factor when the mystery was solved. It was expected, at least by me. I do appreciate the little fictional fantasy added into the book.
It's a good read for around October time, around Halloween but not the best of all thr mysteries I've read.

This was interesting! The magic wasn't quite what I expected but it was good and I loved the horror aspects of it.

The MC bored me by 50% of the book and I disliked pretty much every other character and the plot was pulling most of my interest.

I really think it would of have better being 100 pages shorter because it feel like mostly filler.
I almost gave up on this book multiple times because all of the interesting parts of the plot like the ghosts, the fiddle and all took a back seat to the teen relationship drama that thankfully disappeared by the end an we focused on the ghosts again.

But the ending was worth it, so tense!

Characters confronting trauma through magical means is my favorite genre.

Just didn't really grab me. It's not my typical kind of book and I tried to give it a chance but it's just not for me.

A beautiful cover, a unique title, and great writing. Eerie, emotional...all my favorite things. An all around enjoyable, provoking read.

The writing in this was lovely and I enjoyed the story for what it was but this was way too long for the plot line. It was only 370 pages but I really think it would of benefited from being 100 pages shorter because I felt there was a lot of filler that got me bored.

The romance was a bit meh but I really loved seeing a bisexual character none the less! I liked the spookiness of it and overall I enjoyed but as said, I think it would have been much better if shorter.

lots of grief and guilt and sadness in here, along with characters who were complicated and a lot of tangled family stuff.
