This was so interesting! The ghostly magic wasn't quite what I expected, but still really intriguing! The fearful moments were more sad than scary, and the horror didn't really make a big impact-- the descriptions and even Shady's reactions to it all felt shallow, I guess, to me anyway-- but it was interesting! It took me a good minute to figure out who the killer was and while allllll the secrets were driving me crazy (absolutely no one in this book has ever considered communication, apparently) I did enjoy the ending and the eventually reveals. I'm not a huge fan of plots that rely on no one ever telling anyone anything but it was alright!
