I thought it would be about someone who preferred to stay at home rather than go outside, but it was more about the homes that are our bodies themselves. I could relate to Parish's feeling that for a while they felt more like they were in a rental situation with their body, rather than at home in it.
It's a thoughtful examination of the authors gender journey and would be an uplifting choice for folks who are also trying to figure out gender identity or questioning why they don't feel at home in their bodies written for a younger audience. The book doesn't go as into depth in the exploration as others, but would be a good introduction for someone just starting to explore non-binary feelings and finding the gender expression that fits them.
