slow-paced
The book is okay. The writing feels a bit young (the narrator is a high schooler though, so it tracks). I would’ve liked the pace to be a bit quicker. I really liked Ravi but thought everyone else was a bit dull.
I am slowly realizing I am no longer the target audience for YA books. Probably fun for a younger audience, but not a true thriller.
Spoiler
Mr. Wald being Sal's killer was predictable. I will say.. him not kidnapping the real Andie was a twist I wasn't expecting with her sister being the real killer of Andie.
This was not my favorite book. I guess the high schoolers I know aren’t involved in the types of things these high schoolers were involved in so it seemed very far fetched. There was language used that I’m not a fan of, and morality was very loose, which I understand was necessary for certain characters. I’m just not a fan of normalizing immoral behavior because “it’s what teenagers nowadays do”.

📚✨AudioBook Review✨📚
A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This YA thriller follows Pip, a high school student who decides to reopen a closed murder case for her senior project. Everyone in town believes Sal killed his girlfriend, Andie, before taking his own life. But Pip isn’t convinced. As she digs deeper, she uncovers secrets that certain people would do anything to keep buried.
A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is an absolute must-listen. The audiobook brings the mystery to life in a way the print version can’t. With a full cast and added sound effects for interviews, texts, phone calls, and Pip’s case notes, it perfectly captures that true-crime podcast feel. The pacing, voices, and production pull you into the story so deeply you feel like you’re right there with Pip.
If you're a fan of podcasts like Serial, this is the audiobook for you. The twists and turns are even more impactful when you hear them unfold, and the immersive experience makes you feel like a detective right alongside Pip.
🎧 Highly recommend adding this to your listening list—you won’t be able to pause!
