This didn't feel like a good ending. Smoke and Shadow felt more final than this, but at least it's a good transition to the LOK.

Yeah, this is exactly what I was hoping it would be. For context, The Last Airbender is one of my favorite shows ever, if not my absolute favorite. While I enjoyed the past comics (which I plan on rereading very soon), I always had a problem envisioning them as episodes of the show. They never really felt that close to what they we're adding on to after the series finale. I didn't have that issue with Imbalance. The relationship dynamics are much more similar to what they were like in the show, ESPECIALLY Aang and Katara, which was a lot more enjoyable. And I could easily see this being a mini-arc in the show akin to the Desert in Book 2. The art is also phenomenal.
Overall, this is a much tighter and very well executed addition to the ATLA story, and I can't wait for the next comics (at least I hope there are more).

Took me a few months to actually get around to finish this because the conflict is definitely quite parallel to some of the current bigotry that the world faces... And the gaang's solution feels quite simple/shortsighted/not applicable in the real world issues that the author tries to build a metaphor for... So yeah the art is amazing and the fight scenes are super dynamic but at the end of the day... ACAB.

The final battle was cool in some ways but also dumb because why would benders go into a maze when they could just earthbend it out of the way.
