This book was wild. It was nothing like what I was expecting and somehow mixed mystery with sci-fi and of course romance where no romance would seem to fit. I love Agatha Christie's amazing understanding of humankind and how she develops such unique and intriguing characters. I was completely stumped, but fascinated the entire time and all the twists at the end had me shocked! I need to pick up more of her non-series books because she really has so many layers to explore.

Note: I listened to the audiobook and it was fantastic.

Not a murder mystery, but I still really enjoyed it!

Very interesting, if problematic in several ways.

Libro más bien de aventuras que novela negra

Una mujer se hace pasar por otra para encontrar a su “marido”. Bastantes aventuras para llegar al destino, por medio de estratagemas consigue su fin.

Tiene un giro final pero tampoco aporta mucho

Men suck, and women are smarter. The end.

Smarting from her husband’s desertion, the heroine of this story decides to travel, and, along the way is recruited to infiltrate a Communist-leaning group, because she happens to bear a slight resemblance to the wife of one of the members, a scientist. The British government has no idea where the group is, so they send Hilary Craven in to lead them to the group.

She shows remarkable boldness and ability to improvise, and not only finds the scientist, but keeps her head through the whole enterprise

Christie’s espionage stories don’t tend to hold my interest all that well (except Man in the Brown Suit), and I found my attention wandering during this book.

I have owned this book for many years but had no recollection of reading it - I think it's more than likely I skipped it as a youth on my quest to finish the Poirot's and Marple's. As to the book itself, it wasn't bad. Very romantic and slightly racist, but what can you say for the Cold War terror of the 1950s?
