Simply brilliant, talented actors! Surreal, sarcastic and lots, lots of fun. A lovely play, I've thoroughly enjoyed it.

This play was my first experience of Oscar Wilde's work and it was a great place to start. This play is genuinely amusing and is a great piece of satirical comedy. The characters are brilliant but the greatest aspect of this play, in my opinion, is the pacing. We discover information as characters do and are able to react to them genuinely and anticipate its discovery by other characters. Offhand comments between characters are also greatly amusing and help construct the characters and their relationship with one another.
How have I never read this play before? It's absolutely hysterical, especially when it's put on by a full cast. I thought about reading the play but I've always felt that listening/watching a play is so much more enjoyable than reading it, because you catch so many more nuances that are given by each actor. Granted, to some extent you are leaving the character open to the interpretation of the actor, but that's part of what makes it so interesting. This particular production was put on by a full cast and I found myself laughing out loud throughout. Lady Bracknell in particular, was brilliant! In general, I would hear a character say something and think, "Do you HEAR yourself?" Anyway, count me as one of those who found this to be a great experience.
