As a nerd who isn't into sports, I found the chapter on American grid iron especially informative, though. The fact that the Washington DC team has an intense, ingrained history of racism isn't so surprising, but does extra explain the ludicrously extreme intransigence over its name change.

This was a very informative book.
I enjoyed listening to interesting details about some structures in America (I'm not American, so there's that), not only politic-wise but also educational (the history of SATs, for example).
It ended on a hopeful note, and I appreciated it.

Overall, it was a great read.
I thought this was incredible. It was well written, well researched, and put into perspective how long this has been going on and how easily it happened.

This is a wonderfully uncomfortable book to read, especially if you’re a white dude. However, it’s good to look at white supremacy in the eyes, own the history, and be better. The author is clever, passionate, and insightful. Reading this during a week when a bunch of “mediocre, shitty white dudes” tried to storm the Capital building — it was timely. Highly recommend.
