Man. that was a brilliant. It was engrossing. I now know why Stephen King is so popular. This is the third Stephen King book I am reading and this one is the best. The pace was quick and to the point. One thing that I did not like about this book was the language that was used. I have not problem with "(fuck, titties, pusy etc.)" but 6 and 10 year old kids saying that makes me uncomfortable. Other than that, everything was great. If you are looking for a story which makes sense or which explains things - This book isn't for you. But if you want a simple and silly yet entertaining story - give it a try.

Este libro lo voy a valorar de dos formas por separado:
La primera, es por el libro en si, perfectamente escrito y que te envuelve desde el principio de la historia hasta el final, super detallada y con personajes muy bien definidos aunque en ocasiones poco creibles (un niño de 10 años o una niña de 6 no piensan de la manera en que King nos lo cuenta).
Por otra parte, esta la historia. Solo puedo imaginarmela siendo de dibujos animados. Y ese sonido de "pop" que tanto nos repite me volvía a recordar a esos dibujos. Aunque la idea es original. Mala, pero original.
Por lo tanto, un 4/5 a la narración y calidad, un 1,5/5 a la idea original y unas décimas de regalo por no alargarlo más de lo necesario. Total, un 2,75/5 que no me duele redondearlo a 3 estrellitas.

Loved it. The story was so Stephen King. And it was crazy!!! I just wish it was a full blown novel. I feel like the story could have gone on more.

What did I just read??? Like, no explanation what so ever. It was so random that it's so hard to focus on the story.

A car that eats people appears out of nowhere and gets defeated by a kid and his magnifying glass??? WTF?? And it isn't that that makes me give this short story a poor rating. It's the point of view from the 10-year-pld and the 6-year-old. Their thoughts were portrayed as if they were adults and they were both swearing, the former more then the latter but still. Kids shouldn't know those words and it made their characters seem confused.prismsquare's review against another edition

Really enjoyed this short story. It was definitely one of his better ones, incorporating a lot of different characters without feeling like he was getting too off track.
Something I've noticed king doing a lot in his book is like throwing in movie or tv show names and references when he's too lazy to describe a situation. Saying it's like 'Fringe' or The X Files Not a huge fan of that shit. I'd rather read a description of a scene that just read 'Oh it was like the walking dead' feels lazy to me.
But I did enjoy this one. It was an easy, quick read.

Solid and compelling, BUT...
What an annoyingly abrupt ending. What was the point to that? Argh. My kindle said I was only at 78% too, but then I realized I forgot about the stupid preview at the end. Disappointing only because it was going so well, then BOOM, Mr. King decides to pack it in! For someone who wrote so vividly in "Misery" about being able to write yourself out of a corner, he sure didn't live up to his own expectations. Oh well... on to Mr. Mercedes.

Can't beat Stephen King for originality and terror. This story was good, but the end wasn't quite satisfying although maybe that was his point. A good quick read.
