Out of the three books in the S.T.A.G.S collection, this one took a little bit extra to get into for me. I found it a bit confusing at times to follow the plotlines, but soon after got back into the swing of things. I wish there was a little more focus on the Nel/Nathanial storyline as it would be interesting to see his side of things, and hopefully it isn't romanticized as a teacher/student relationship. I find myself really liking Henry more and more as things go on, and I was very happy when it was revealed that he wasn't just in Greer's dreams. I'm also glad that Ty has become an important character, she is a complex character and it's always nice to have new characters that add to the group! The twins I went back and forth on how I felt about them. There were moments of real likeability but also they share a bed and a peck at one point so it's a very strange relationship that I hope in the next books gets explored more.

There is something about this series that I can’t put my finger on but I’m here for it and enjoy following on the adventure, After reading S.T.A.G.S (The first book in this series back in 2021 I have been waiting for October Season to come around again so I could dive in to Book 2 and then instantly decided that Book 3 was needed right after and here I am at the end of book 3 and will be picking up Book 4 to see what happens next in the series.

The story picks up straight after the events of book two, following Greer, Shafeen and Nel as they continue to uncover the secrets behind The Dark Order of the Grand Stag. Determined to find out the truth, the visit Cumberland Place – the residence of Henry’s parents. There they find his mum Caro insisting that Henry is still alive and his Dad Rollo putting all his efforts into reinstating fox hunting. But is Henry really alive and will history repeat itself at Longcross?

I have to say that one thing I love about this series in the Characters, Greer, Shafeen and Nel make a really brilliant group of protagonists and I really enjoyed watching them work together to uncover the twisted secrets behind the Order. The story is told from Greer’s perspective so there are plenty of film references as she narrates this gripping tale.

The story if full of twists and turns and is really fast paced. M. A. Bennett writes these short snappy chapter that have you immediately starting the next one. I am so excited to see what the next instalment brings.

Had a bit of a slow start, but I very much enjoyed all the clues, puzzles and mysteries Greel, Nel and Shafeen unraveled. Can't wait to read the next book!
