William Stout's "The Dinosaurs" was probably the most influential dinosaur book of my childhood (and beyond). The echo of Stout's illustrations can still be seen in my own drawings.

This book is Stout's self-proclaimed sequel to "The Dinosaurs". It features several dozen recent illustrations (almost all done in his colored ink style) of dinosaurs discovered discovered since "The Dinosaurs" was printed in the early 80s. Stout accompanies his illustrations with factual text about each animal. I miss the gorgeous prose that William Service created to match Stout's pictures in "The Dinosaurs". (Service died several years ago.) Still, the book is lovely and carefully put together. Flesk has excellent color printing and Stout's pictures are deliciously vibrant.
