I couldn’t put this book down; I had to figure out what was happening.

Ehhhh!! Another book! Where people aren't keeping eyes on their children! My goodness!

Kelley Armstrong knocks it out of the park again with her new thriller, Someone is Always Watching, that is sure to enthrall both teen and adult readers alike. From its ominous title to the twisty developments within its pages, this book keeps you turning the pages to the very end.
The core group of young characters are compelling and sympathetic as they wade through discovery after discovery of their pasts and how the adults around them have been keeping them in the dark. The book examines motivations - both benign and sinister - and the relationships that bind us.
Readers may get a sense of dΓ©jΓ  vu if they have read any of the books in Armstrong's Darkest Powers series, which also centres around young people discovering secrets about their pasts kept from them by sinister adults. This theme does seem to be developing into one of Armstrong's favourites. However, this novel remains firmly in the realm of real life and not the supernatural as in the previous series.
Regardless, #SomeoneIsAlwaysWatching is a well-written, fast-paced, thrill ride of a book that is well worth a read. As with all of her YA books, it not once talks down to the target audience, and remains complex and yet easy to read. Thank you to #NetGalley for the ARC.

As they dig into each other’s secrets, their trust fractures, forcing them to question what’s real and who’s hiding what. While this YA mystery isn’t quite edge-of-your-seat suspense, it offers a unique, unsettling storyline and intriguing psychological twists. If you love slow-burning mysteries with twists, this novel is a solid choice!

Interesting/original YA thriller that is completely unbelievable but still fun! Some loose ends that need to be tied up or I'd give it 4 stars. Likeable characters, some good plot twists, fun story!

This author was one of the first paranormal and urban fantasy writers I read back when those types of books were first becoming popular. And I have to say that after reading this latest entry, she still has what it takes to be at the forefront of this now-saturated genre.

As a young adult novel, I felt like it brought something new to the table. Although, as some have stated, the big secret wasn't really all that secret, there were still many twists and turns along the way that kept the story fresh and interesting and I didn't feel cheated in any way. The group of friends, being in an elite school due to their scholastic abilities, seemed more like adults to me than teenagers. The only weakness to me were the parents, who I felt could've been fleshed out just a tad bit more as to their motives, background and involvement. But again, that didn't detract at all from my enjoyment.

This is a really fast-paced read packed with action and sprinkled with believable dialogue and interactions. I definitely hope this is part of a series because I wouldn't mind seeing what happens next.

This book was an interesting mystery/thriller that unfortunately fell a little flat for me. I wasn't as engaged with this story and couldn't connect with the characters and their motives as readily as I normally do. It just wasn't for me.
