Not sure I’m going to finish this. It’s trite, over-simplified, repetitive, and disjointed. If the narrative you believe is that there is a devil out there specifically out to get you, then this author promises to give you the magic answer for overcoming that attack. If that’s not your narrative, then this book is just silly. Also, she claims her ideas are based on neuroscience; however, the bulk of her citations are Bible verses, and the science she cites is from more popular science sources rather than true scientific articles and research papers.

It was a pleasant surprise to begin reading this book only to discover that it is chock full of biblical principles. Despite this, the book still felt a little flat and lacked the depth I expected.

I love Jennie Allen, but the lack of actual action steps in this book is frustrating. If you're an established Christian with a good community around you, this book is great for sparking conversation, otherwise, it lacks actionable steps and examples.

Highly recommend this book for a Bible study. Gets personal and and uses biblical knowledge and science to take control of negative/toxic thoughts and tools to use everyday!!
