I’m not a very religious person and  the book is very religious, which is great for people that are looking for an inspiring religious book.
I originally found this book on my search for content to help me with my depression. This wasn’t the content I was looking for. Based on the title I didn’t know the author was going to talk about god so much. It was not a bad book. It just was not for me.

This book gives readers a model for how to stop toxic thoughts and choose a thought process that aligns with faith and trust in God. It has helped me stay calm in the midst of chaos.

This was a single sitting read. There were so many lightbulb moments! I couldn’t put it down because the clarity was coming too quickly to not be engrossed.

So Much Jesus. It's a DNF for me. Life is too short.

GET OUT OF YOUR HEAD seriously rocked my world, in the very best way. My sentiment after every chapter was PREACH IT, SISTER. This book has stuck with me since I turned the last page, and I walked away with so, so much to continue processing and putting into practice. There are such great practical steps and concepts here that have helped me beyond measure already. Most of all, though, I loved how every last bit of this book was rooted in Biblical truth, backed up by Scripture, taking us right to the Source, who God is. It wasn’t the author pushing her agenda, it was her speaking fact (biblically and scientifically) and powerful truth and encouragement in such a genuine way. One of my favorite quotes I marked says, “When we take every thought captive and reclaim our thinking patterns from the lies of the enemy, we are set free to set others free. May we steward our freedom well.” Amen and amen!

I can’t say enough good things about this book and if you’re looking for your next Christian non-fiction read, I highly recommend this be it! It’s also perfectly relevant with everything happening in the world right now, particularly in regards to its effects on mental health, so there’s no better time to dive in.

All there really is to say is “it was okay”. This is a good example of why there should be a 2 1/2 star option.

Jennie Allen has such a way of presenting the Word with such straightforward realness. Being able to rewire our minds to stay focused on His Truths, instead of lies from the enemy and our own self-critic, is so important in our culture today. A must read if you’re wanting to break free of the downward spiral of self-condemnation.
