What an uplifting, touching, and riveting story that was. Music enthusiasts may leave a concert with a setlist, a pick that the lead guitarist threw at the audience, the memory of a smile that the lead singer flashed at them mid-show, or even a meaningful exchange with the artist. This is next level. The path this legendary piece of gum put Warren Ellis on makes one muse on passion, art, mortality, nostalgia, and most of all, spreading joy among friends, family, and the world.

What a fabulous book! Spent the whole of my evening reading this in one sitting. A beautiful story which proves that sentimentality is power and not weakness. Lovingly written with brilliant images to enjoy. A must read for any music fan.

The narrator seems such a kind human being, and I loved the community of care that was created around a tiny piece of gum. I guess we can infect each other with our belief in the value of something small and easily overlooked.

This book. Nina Simone's gum. The magnitude of one item and the importance we bestow upon it because of one man - Woz - and his undying adoration and respect of raw Godlike talent. Beethoven. Nina. Nick. This book, like Nina Simone's gum, will become part of you once you finish reading it. Do it. Then read it again. Then give a copy to someone who needs to see that precious things can die so easily if their fragility isn't tended to by all.
