On the surface this should have been something I loved: a serial killer thriller with a protagonist that has an interesting career that pulls her into a dark situation. But this just had way too much going on side-plot wise. All of the family drama and the romance bullshit took away from the serial killer plot that was supposed to be the backbone of the book and made it feel more like another side plot. Also, the few sections we get from the POV of the killer were, sadly, superfluous to the plot (which is truly a bummer because they were some of the sections I was most interested in). She should have either fully committed to the serial killer POV or left them out all together. Mickie also just kind of got on my nerves with some of the stupid decisions she made and her inability to change her behaviors based on the information she has (seriously, why would you not make sure to lock your front door if you know you’ve recently been getting threatening messages and also have a habit of forgetting to lock your door? I feel like that’s just common sense, but apparently it isn’t to Mickie). Three stars because there wasn’t anything inherently wrong with this and it did have that compulsively readable quality to it, but it was just trying to pull together too many threads and it wasn’t necessarily successful.

I wouldn’t have guessed the plot, outside of why the memory bank was being put together. Very good overall, but kind of drug out.

After finishing this book I feel frustrated and pissed. The book is laughably long, and it wouldn't be a problem if there was any plot and not just boring day to day activities. The story itself is PACKED, it's doing too much at the same time, the author is telling five different stories that have little to no correlation. 95% of the book goes soooooooo slowly and then by the end we're get thrown chunks of plot so fast that it's hard to realise what's even happening. No need to say that the reveal wasn't as surprising as the author might have thought, you could see it from a mile, and the ending was just underwhelming.

This book was BORING. And it's a thriller. That's the last thing you want and it pretty much sums up the whole thing.

This story had such promise, but there was so much junk that didn't need to be here. I finished it, but it was so very hard!! I had never heard of this author & I don't know if I will read anything else by her. We'll see.

This one is tough for me to rate.

I enjoyed the authors previous book And Now She's Gone and gave that one 5 stars because I loved all the twists and turns but unfortunately, I didn't really click with this one, I did guess one of the biggerish plot twists and for that, I think I'll give this one a 3 star but I did really like the writing style

Wasn't my favorite book. It took a while to get into and make sense of what was happening & not in a mystery type of way. Conversations were vague and character switches were not clear. At first I thought it was the same character and having flash backs but that was not the case.

I enjoyed the mystery part of this book and trying to figure out who DD was. However there were time when the MC was too focused on dating.
