This is how you write a book that is mostly moving from place to place and war planning (Jennifer L. Armentrout take note)

I devoured 85% of this book today oopsie. Somehow this sequel was exactly what I expected and simultaneously also not at all. So much happened in this book and yet it felt a little too long for what the plot provided. More betrayal, more revelations and character growth on Alina’s part. I still dislike Mal (Gale 2.0) and I was majorly disappointed to find the romance between Alina and the Darkling not advancing, likely never.  Some parts had me gripped, some felt a bit repetitive. Diving into the third book tomorrow, maybe the finale will provide satisfaction.

So, it must end lol. I have been trying to read this book for days and it just isn’t keeping my attention. I feel no pull to pick it up, no drive to finish. I must do the unthinkable, I must place this book on my DNF shelf

The story structure is nonexistent and the main love interest is absolutely unlikeable, but the banter is solid. Nikolai carried this book on his back. I hope the final instalment lives up to its potential

The plot: Meh, really repetitive
The characters: Can’t stand them *except Nikolai

I looked forward to this book, carrying on the awesomely written story in the first book and I am so sad to have to give it this review. I don’t know what to say. I loved Mal in the first book but somehow in the span of a few chapters in the second book he turned in to one of my least favourite characters. Just annoying. Nikolai was really carrying this book. Alina went from being an amazing strong female lead character to being so distant and power hungry. I don’t write many bad reviews but I feel so disappointed. I really think this book had potential but after finishing it I don’t think I will be finishing the series.

I NEED THE THIRD BOOK RIGH NOW!!

4-4.5 Stars

Seriously, what's with this series? I've read both book in a day, and now, I don't want the third one because I don't want this to end. I hadn't been so captivated by a story in a looong time. *_*
