Simple rhymes with repeating phrases, great illustrations, and a good message of overcoming your fears and strength in numbers.

A simple story of one friend helping another friend who is supported by another friend and throughout it all manages to conquer a fear of the dark. Children will like the story, the colorful illustrations and the happy ending.

It isn't as amazing as the original Pout-Pout, but it's still a great rhyming tale about being afraid of the dark. Love me some pout-pout!

While I didn't enjoy this one quite as much as the original [b:Pout-Pout Fish|1795615|The Pout-Pout Fish|Deborah Diesen|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1317791442s/1795615.jpg|1794658], I can see that this would be a great one to read aloud to children who are afraid of the dark. I also like its message that great things can be accomplished through the power of friendship and working together.

The rhyming text is sometimes clunky, but I like the part that repeats the refrain: "... fast as a sailfish, strong as a shark, smart as a dolphin ..." This would be a nice read-aloud for bedtime.
