I couldn't put this book down. From the very beginning of the first novel, I was engrossed in the friendship of Elena and Lila and this book only cemented my fascination with them and the bond they share. Both are interesting, flawed, and sometimes quite unlikable characters. As I was reading, I found myself thinking about and examining my own female friendships which is something I really appreciated. It is rare to find a novel with such a rich, deep, and truthful narrative of a female friendship. This novel has the ability to make you think about the writing while also identifying deeply with the emotions and relationship between the two main characters.
