I was a little unsure about the first novel, but I'm so happy I continued on with this series. There were so many realistic (and beautiful) depictions of love, friendship, and growth that I can't help but wonder how incredible it is in its original language.
I’ve been thinking a lot about how women tell women’s stories, and in reading this series, I’m so grateful for the rage that simmers right under the surface. This is so perfectly reflected in the wedding photo that Lila “defaces” for the shoe stop: pent up feminine energy and creativity that cannot be contained, that in fact bursts spontaneously into flames. I’m taking a little break before the third book, but I think I could have jumped right in.

لا أعد ما اكتبه الآن مراجعة للرواية .. فهو أقرب للفضفضة منه للمراجعة..
هذه الرواية حقا رائعة كثيرا .. فهي تصور النفس البشرية بشكل مذهل ومرعب في نفس الوقت ..
في نهاية الجزء الأول كرهت ستيڤانو كثيرا .. في هذا الجزء تتابعت كراهيتي لهم واحدا تلو الآخر إلى أن انتهي أمري بكراهيتهم جميعا .. ربما تبقى ففط انتسو وأنطونيو .. أخشى أن تصدمني الأجزاء القادمة فأكرههما كذلك .. كان نينو أكثر من كرهته .. ربما لأنه كان شخصيتي المفضلة في الجزء الأول فبقدر ما أحببته بقدر ما تضاعف كرهي له..
في الجزء الأول كنت في كل موقف أكون في جانب شخص ما .. أرغب أن تسير الأحداث في اتجاهه .. فمثلا كنت أرغب من لينو أن تترك أنطونيو ولا تعذبه أكثر من هذا وتكون مع نينو .. في هذا الجزء أصبحت أكره الجميع فلا أقف مع أحد .. لا أعرف أريد لمن أن يكون مع من ..
لينو ضايقتني كثيرا .. لكني تفهمتها في كثير من الأحيان .. وإن كنت في بعض الأوقات أغتاظ منها كثيرا .. مثلا كرهت كثيرا علاقتها بأنطونيو وشعرت بأنها كانت تظلمه معها .. كرهت جدا موقف الشاطئ مع والد نينو .. كرهت مقارنة نفسها دائما بليلا واهتمامها الشديد برأي الناس فيها وإن كنت أتفهمها إلى حد ما ..
ليلا كانت تعجبني في كثيرا من المواقف عندما تتصرف دون أن تعمل حسابا لأحد .. ولكنها كانت تغيظني في أحيانا أخرى.. كثيرة..
كانت نهاية هذا الجزء جميلة كما أخبرتني صديقتى رحمة.. شكرا لتشجعيك الدائم .. أصبح التطبيق ممتعاً أكثر بكثير بعد ان تعرفت عليك♥️

I loved this every bit as much as the last, possibly more.
I have never resonated so deeply with a narrative voice as I have with Elena. She is open and honest in a way that I have not seen before.
Ferrante has built a world so meticulously detailed that her books feel like epic stories despite their mundane subject. It's a deeply sad story and I am rooting so much for Elena and Lila. I am itching to read the next, but I'm already anxious that there are only two left.
