Do meio pro final Lenu encontra a vida do jeito que ela é: com amor.

As usual, utterly perfect prose from Elena Ferrante. Few authors combine the domestic struggles of characters with political anger as much as Ferrante does; it's clear, vivid and a strong continuation of My Brilliant Friend that continues to see the growth of the protagonists Lila and Elena, pushing the characters in heartbreaking new ways that see audiences continue to remain invested in them.

The Neapolitan Novels are like Sally Rooney's Normal People if it was set in Italy; a period piece and actually good. Everything just comes together and I'm convinced that the show would get the same love and attention as the BBC series if it was in English. It's just a masterclass in storytelling.

I don't know what magic this is, but it's breathless.

Amazing writing and a relatable story. I felt that I knew each person in the story and that I walked freely in Lila and Lenu’s neighborhood.

This beautifully written sequel to "My Brilliant Friend" follows Lena and Lila into their 20s in Naples, Italy. The novel further explores the love hate relationship between the two young women who have continued on their different paths - early marriage and motherhood for one, education and "freedom" for the other. It is a great portrayal of women in the 1950s, of their struggle with their roles and societal expectations, in particular in the lower class neighborhood they come from.
