This was twisted in all the best ways! Dereck is an extremely dirty talker and I am here for it! The angst was palatable! Eva sassy and capable! Loved the plot and I can not wait for the second book that cliff hanger! Ooof!! This was an arc and I’m voluntarily leaving my review.

Holy mother of Jesus! I can't believe this is was a Debut novel! It was so good. I was hooked from the very beginning. Elle’s writing style was so fantastic!
Derek Cain can get it. The chemistry and banter between him and Eva was next level. I don't usually like slow burns but this one was chefs kiss! I loved how fast he fell for her. Instant overly protective and possessive. And the mouth on this man, phewwwww lawd!
The plot was super captivating and I loved to see the growth Derek goes through and how hard he tries to show Eva his love and how he deserves her at the end had me swooning. The man can grovel with the best of them.
I loved the cop/criminal aspect as well, especially that Eva was the bad ass cop who could handle her own.
I can't wait for book two!
