Very early on in the story it was clear to me what the approximate ending would be, but it was a very sweet and readable book nonetheless. The self-help vibes are strong with this one!

Hadn’t realized this was YA. Good writing, loads of cliché.

This was such a great book!! I love the idea that all pawns can become queens if they just keep moving forward!!

Gets a bit repetitive in parts, but overall really enjoyed it. A timeless, perhaps simplistic message about finding hope and meaning in the little things in life, but a satisfying one nonetheless, and one that contains a lot of truth. It’s a good reminder that “chasing your dreams” means something different to everyone, and that it’s okay if those dreams change over time too.
