UGGGGGGGHHHHHH this book. It just punches me right in the ovaries. It manages to be childhood sweethearts, neighbors to lovers, friends to lovers, and enemies to lovers ALL AT ONCE. And also mistaken identities! Who doesn't love that?! (I can tell who does does love that - me!)

I liked Asha as a side character in Mister Romance, but I love her SO MUCH MORE getting to know deeper into who she is (and all her secret fears and flaws) in Professor Feelgood. Also, every guy who showed up in the first part of the book I found myself going "Is that Professor Feelgood? Is that him? How about him?" And for a while I was convinced it had to be Toby!! Haha. The reality is so much more delicious than I ever could have imagined. His character is just great - he says he's a recovering asshole and boy, he really shows it - and his relationship with Asha is just - ugh. I do wish there'd been a little more around them moving past their history and resuming their friendship, because that part felt just a bit rushed. And then the final reveal and the ending of this book - I can't even words, I only melt. Let's just say I want all of the romance heroes in this series. I want to keep them in my pockets where I will feed them candy and they can spout romantic things at me. Gush.

This is the second book in the Masters of Love series, and while I can technically be read as a stand alone I really recommend you read book 1, Mister Romance, first. There are definitely spoilers for Mister Romance in this book, but you don't 100% HAVE TO have read it to get the full enjoyment from Professor Feelgood. Also, I can NOT WAIT for the next book in this series, which will be called Doctor Love and be told from Toby's POV!

My goodness can this author write a good love story! Powerful and epic, this was even better than the first book in the series (and I loved that book).

I’ve never been a big fan of a-hole angsty hero’s but damn if Jake isn’t just the best. I couldn’t get enough of these two. I would LOVE if Leisa would write a book for his manuscript so WE can read it. Such a beautiful epic love. Jake is just the right amount of angsty tortured hero. His incredibly beautiful poetry and love for Asha is so powerful and sexy and beautiful.

And on top of their epic love is a story that’s fun and engaging. This woman knows how to write romance and write it well! I was glued to the pages the entire time. This book had me laughing and nearly crying and hoping and in love with these beautiful characters and their incredible love for each other. They had a hard journey getting there but there’s no doubt in my mind that they were made for each other.

On a lighter note it’s not often that a book will have me in tears from laughing so hard but I was literally laughing so hard I was crying while reading Asha’s terrible first morning as editor. The comedic epicness of that scene was just too much. We’ve all had those days where nothing goes right and Asha’s reactions were just priceless. So thank you to the author for such a great quality laugh during that scene. :)

So thank you for the laughs and the tears and all the feels of this book I have no doubt it will be a re-read when I need some more Jake, Asha, and their epic live story in my life.

P.S. The only thing that would’ve made this one better would be an Epilogue. How did the book do? Did Jake’s Instagram change in tone? Etc. I need to know these things! Lol

I can’t deny I love Leisa Rayven writing, this book is one of my favorites of 2018, This enemies to lovers romance book is done to perfection. Asha and the professor chemistry is off the charts. Asha character is amazing, the plot is perfect, the swoon will give you a heart attack and just amazing. I am so going to re-read this book in the future.

4 STARS

A frenemies romance with a hopeless romantic and Professor Feelgood. Slow burn with great banter between the characters.

“A recovering asshole engaging in brutal introspection one day at a time. I’m a collection of bad choices masquerading as a semi-functioning man.”

“Man, you got bossy… And mean. What happened to you, Asha? Who hurt you? Is it someone local? Can I shake his hand?”

“I do a lot of things badly and a few things well. But I do one thing better than anyone else on the planet, and that’s love you.”

I really liked this book. The main characters were fleshed out, relatable, and likable. BFFs from childhood had a rocky time as teenagers due to friends, social things, etc. The friendship blew up like fire on oil, and best friends became each other's antagonist and nemesis. Then they graduated and put the past behind them or didn't. Years later, Asha works as an editor, and Jake has an instagram account of thirst traps and sexy poetry. Asha contacts the Instagram account for a potential book. The rest writes itself (jk Leisa Rayven wrote the magic). A light, ridiculous premise I can absolutely get behind, the book is well done. It could have leaned deep into sexual self-confidence and insecurities, but I'm glad didn't. The love story was the main event and well done.

Tropes and Themes: Second chances, enemies to lovers, chemistry for days, slow burn, fated mates

Leisa Rayven is an author that I have read everything she has written and loved every single one of her books! They are fantastically written and there is no one else like her out there. Fans of Mister Romance have been waiting for this one for awhile, but it was absolutely worth the wait, and I think that fans are going to love it!

Asha Tate thought a promotion at her job was in the bag, but when she finds out that she needs to land the next bestseller to land the job, she knows she has her work cut out for her. She comes up with the idea to turn her obsession with a man calling himself Professor Feelgood’s Instagram into a novel, featuring his moving poetry and steamy pictures. When he agrees to let her turn it into a book, she never expects that the man behind Professor Feelgood is nothing like she imagined. But despite all the reasons she shouldn’t want him, she finds herself unable to fight the chemistry between them.

I absolutely loved Asha and Jake. I don’t want to spoil anything for those that haven’t read, so I won’t get into much detail here...but these two were absolutely meant for one another. There was so much there between them and as the story began to unfold that became more apparent than ever. They had chemistry and a strong connection, and I was emotionally invested in them from start to finish.

Leisa Rayven is one of my favorite author’s for so many reasons, but I just keep falling more in love with her writing with each book she releases. Professor Feelgood is a standalone, but I do highly recommend reading Mister Romance first if possible. It is another great book by her, but it is also interconnected to this story and lets you get to know some of the characters seen here better. You really can’t go wrong with anything written by Leisa Rayven, but this one is definitely a new favorite of mine! I will be anxiously awaiting Leisa’s next book, and I know I’ll have to reread some of my favorites of hers while I wait!
