I can already tell this is gonna become one of my favourite series!

Calder and Hadley were definitely one of the best parts of the first book already and I was so excited to get into their story. While the tropes may seem overdone, Cowles manages to add a layer of suspense/mystery to the plot that really makes it stand out for me.

There are so many serious topics discussed in this book and I especially appreciated how Hadley's difficult relationship to her mum was portrayed, it was so realistic and I could really feel with her.

Cal's kids were well written, acted like actual children and made the story so much sweeter

This is definitely the right amount of spice for me in a book, especially because it fits within the plotlines. It's not as much as you get in other romances but you get so much more plot and actual romance here that I really appreciated.

The Easton siblings already have my heart and I'm so excited to read the rest of their stories!

I think maybe romantic suspense isn’t my thing?

I enjoyed this continuation to the Tattered and Torn series. The villainous ending moment was a bit far fetched in my opinion and didn’t quite make sense for the characters, but I adored this nonetheless!

“..I’d been half in love with Calder Cruz from the moment he’d taught me to chase the stars.”

Come onnn the relationship of Hadley and Calder was angsty, bit of a second chance/bad timing, and ultra sweet!! I liked how he taught Hadley to fly and find an outlet when her overbearing mother was too much to handle.

This one ticked off a lot of my favorite tropes— small town, mutual pining, single parent, workplace and also featured the iconic brothers best friend & friends to lovers.

I am excited to continue on with this romantic suspense series because I am absolutely hooked!!

CW: violence, gun violence,

I enjoyed reading about Hadley and Calder. I found it fascinating that the thing that initially pulled Hadley and Calder together ended up pushing them apart. The one connecting thread through this series is the unresolved trauma that all the characters have to learn to deal with the effects. I really like how Calder and Hadley communicated with each other throughout this book. As for the suspense portion, I had this one guessed correctly pretty early on.
