A fun thriller of a ride that explores the meaning of aging while also giving us a glimpse of what it must be like to be a professional assassin. I enjoyed all the little adventures and missions the group went on throughout the book and I thought the flashback chapters were really enlightening for the reader. Overall this was an easy read - so many aspects of it were  attention-grabbing and I had a great time thanks to the clever execution.

It was alright, and the star characters were unusual, but it wasn't deeply memorable. Yet again, I struggle seeing the point behind the use of flashbacks, but that may all be down to the scarring I got due to The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue

Ultimately, it's a good book to read in the sun, but it won't stay on your mind because there isn't a lot to attach to. Yes, you want the 4 old biddies to succeed, but the closest we come to something to be invested in is the supremely layered love story that never panned out, which is realistic, but sidesteps that entirely necessary emotional investment from the reader.

This was a really fun book, and I think it would make a great campy heist/crime movie à la Ocean's Eight. It's not a super-deep or philosophical read, but it does have a few nuggets of wisdom about women, aging, and power. A lot of the plot relies on convenient coincidences
(one of them just *happens* to have purchased a house in England where they can hide out, and it just *happens* to be in the name of her late husband's holding company so it can't be traced back to them, and so on)
, so everything is quickly and neatly resolved. This book is great if you're looking for a fun story with a satisfying ending, but you'll be disappointed if you go in expecting a thriller or a high-stakes whodunnit.

The only thing I wish were different is the narration - it switches between third-person and Billie's first-person, and it's not entirely clear why Billie is the one chosen to tell most of the story. I would've preferred to read all four women's perspectives. Aside from that, I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone looking for a book that's genuinely fun.

The description says Golden Girls meets James Bond, I think it’s more RED meets Kingsman and the Golden Girls. I was skeptical when I started this book because it was within the genre I normally read but not necessarily something I’d immediately choose. However I am extremely happy I read this. It’s an amazing book in my opinion and I can see myself and my sisters in the characters (minus the assassin part). The entire plot was believable based on the characters and background information. It wasn’t outlandish or had so many plot twists it was hard to keep up. Highly recommend.

So well done and definitely has gotten me more into mystery and assassin esque books cause this was greatttt
Kinda wish there had been an epilogue but due to the way it was written and formatted it doesn’t shock me that there wasn’t
