3.5 stars. Audio version was more than 30 hours! I somehow never read this in my younger days. While there was some good humor, there were many more parts that were just plain boring.
I kept this book in my shelf for a long time.I bought this when i was a teenager and only read it when i was out of my college.Then again i really enjoyed this book, because of the simplicity.

If you liked this book you'd enjoy Demon Copperhead. I'd advise reading that book before Charles Dickens'. I had to press on past the first few chapters in both books but it was well worth it in both cases.

This is a great book but Demon Copperhead is so much more relevant today. I wish I had read this before because I think I would have liked it more. Still, Dickens' writing is incredible and his skill & humor carry across almost 200 years.

A dark redemption story with so much love.
This book aims to tell the story of David Copperfield's life, and like life, it is often fascinating, but boring in parts too -- with some great characters and some annoying ones. Loves enter his life and leave. Mistakes are made. Some people change and others don't. This book really represents a life, with all its drama and lack of drama.
Not as good as Great Expectations but still really good. It's better in the beginning and at the end. Be patient through the middle!
