Finally finished it - have to give it three stars for the sole reason that I invested an extended period of my life reading this and I can't get that time back

I must confess the size of this book always scared me a little - I mean could one person truly be so interesting that I would want to read about him for almost a thousand pages?
The answer I'm glad to report is: Yes!

I quickly found myself so interested in the life of David Copperfield that I just couldn't put the book down.
Yes there were times I felt the story stalled a bit, and at times I felt the monologues of some characters got a bit long-winded, but overall I really enjoyed this journey.
I laughed, I cried, I was outraged, but most of all I felt I made a new friend.

True rating is pry like a 4.5, but I wasn’t in the right headspace this go around. Great character work even in the women were a little flat.
