The more I reflect on this book, the more I realize that not only is this my favorite Dickens novel, it's one of my favorite novels period. Such a great story, such great characters. Also really great is the movie version with Maggie Smith, Bob Hopkins, Ian McLellan and very young Daniel Radcliffe.

I didn't know what to expect going into this other than it was Charles Dickens. I really enjoyed it for the most part. Watching his journey as he grew and faced each new challenge was fun. I loved the beginning, but the middle (especially the second half) was a little harder for me. There were a lot of side characters to keep track of and the plot felt a lot slower to me. The ending picked up again and was my favorite part. It was such a satisfying ending.

I look forward to revisiting this one in the future. I think I will enjoy it more on a reread.

Really enjoyed all of the characters in this book. It took me a long time to finish, with several breaks, but I loved how the characters kept popping up throughout David's life. I laughed out loud several times and really enjoyed Dickens's writing style.
